Waterville Country Club is a member owned semi-private golf course perched in the hills of Oakland, Maine. Founded in 1916 by a group of local businessmen, Waterville Country Club has been a fixture of in the community for many of generations.

Waterville Country Club is an 18-hole golf course that also provides an exciting food and beverage service experience. The restaurant and lounge is an 80+ seat full-service restaurant that is open seasonally in conjunction to the golf operation. In addition to the dining room, our space also includes a banquet room, a patio, two decks and a snack shack on the 10th tee.

Waterville Country Club is looking to hire a head chef who will be committed to providing the best in class service to our members as well as the public. This will be a full-time seasonal position with an estimated start date of April 15th. Potential candidates should be available and willing to work on nights and weekends. The head chef will report directly to Waterville Country Clubs General Manager.

Compensation for this position will be extremely competitive and based on candidate experience. Golf privileges and bonus compensation for incentivized goals are included benefits. This position does not include medical benefits.

***Position Responsibilities:***

* Oversee all food preparation and production at the club, including products sold in the restaurant, banquet area and snack shack.

* Supervise and train all kitchen staff to ensure employees are being held to standards set forth by Waterville Country Clubs leadership.

* Appropriately and efficiently schedule kitchen staff to assure labor for all food preparation and production are within budgeted goals.

* Economically coordinate all food purchases to assure cost of goods sold are within budgeted goals.

* Develop and implement a method to manage inventory and control food waste.

* Develop weekly or daily specials to be offered to customers over and above what is available on the standard menu.

* Ensure that the highest of standards for sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout the kitchen at all times.

* Routinely meet with the General Manager to discuss all aspects of the food preparation and production at the club.

* Communicate and partner with the Head Bartender to provide excellent customer service for our customers.

* Any additional responsibilities assigned by the General Manager.

***Preferred Qualifications:***

* Degree in culinary arts

* 5+ years of experience in a full-service restaurant

* Serve Safe certification
