Job Description: Utilities Engineer (Lockout/Tagout and Control of Hazardous Energy Focus) This role is 100% Onsite in New Brunswick, NJ Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, Business HoursClient / Clinical Supply Operations is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utilities Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining lockout/tagout (LOTO) and control of hazardous energy procedures to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of our utility systems. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing workplace accidents, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and protecting the well-being of our employees. Responsibilities: 1. Develop and implement comprehensive lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for various utility systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, steam and pneumatic equipment. 2. Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate control measures. 3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate existing utility systems and recommend safety improvements. 4. Create detailed written procedures for the control of hazardous energy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including OSHA standards. 5. Review and update existing lockout/tagout and control of hazardous energy procedures in accordance with evolving regulations and industry best practices. 6. Train and educate employees on proper lockout/tagout procedures, ensuring understanding and compliance with safety protocols. 7. Conduct periodic audits and inspections to ensure the effective implementation of lockout/tagout and control of hazardous energy procedures. 8. Investigate incidents related to utility systems, identify root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 9. Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to obtain necessary documentation and instructions for safe equipment operation and maintenance. 10. Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to lockout/tagout and control of hazardous energy procedures, and provide recommendations for improvement. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Additional certifications in safety management or industrial hygiene are a plus. 2. Proven experience in developing and implementing lockout/tagout and control of hazardous energy procedures in an industrial or utility environment. 3. Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as OSHA's Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout) standard (29 CFR 1910.147) and NFPA 70E. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise procedures and effectively train employees on safety protocols. 5. Analytical mindset and the ability to conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and develop appropriate control measures. 6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate documentation and perform thorough inspections and audits. 7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, interacting with various stakeholders, including maintenance technicians, supervisors, and management. 8. Strong problem-solving skills to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. 9.
