JOB SUMMARY:Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment. Maintains assigned equipment, provides training to peers as needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitor VRT area to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment.
  • Be able to handle extreme cold temperatures with proper cold gear for majority of shift.
  • Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.
  • Adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required.
  • Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance tech lead.
  • Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and gives feedback to supervisor, including cost reduction, quality improvement and yield control.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform backup duties to other staff as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages.
  • Skill in using power tools.
  • Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and scissors lift.
  • Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.
  • Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and weekends.
  • Welding ability highly preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Associate's Degree in Mechanics or Technology preferred. Minimum of 6 months related experience in a maintenance position. Previous experience working with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive) preferred.
