(RTH) is a private 501(c)(3) multi-service non-profit housing and human service organization founded in 1969 by Mission Hill residents and Harvard University students. Its mission was to preserve the unique character of the neighborhood by moderating the expansion of local institutions into their community.RTH is a dynamic, racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse community. It owns and operates high-quality low- and moderate-income housing situated adjacent to the Longwood Medical Area (LMA) on a twenty-four-acre site in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston. The grounds offer a comfortable setting with a variety of recreational and community facilities, including an outdoor pool, computer resource center, after-school program, senior drop-in center, and a Community Center with a full gymnasium, fitness center, and youth development center.RTH MissionRTH seeks to develop, preserve, and maintain safe and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income people of diverse backgrounds in the RTH/Mission Hill neighborhood and to improve the quality of life for its residents. Job Title: Welcome Desk ReceptionistDepartment: CCRReports To: Member Services DirectorClassification: Part-time, hourlyCompensation: $18.54/hourSummaryActs in the best interest of the RTH organization, reflecting values of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect. The Welcome Desk Receptionist ensures the efficient operation of the reception area and provides exemplary customer service.Qualifications
  • Culturally competent; able to work with a diverse workforce and resident population.
  • Strong skills in communication, leadership, judgment, conflict resolution, and creativity.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or acquired within 30 days of hire.
ResponsibilitiesAdministrative
  • Ensures programs are safe, properly staffed, and equipped.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Builds and maintains a high standard of customer service and serves as a role model for residents, participants, staff, and volunteers.
  • Attends and participates in staff, board, and community meetings as directed.
  • Prepares and submits accurate reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate record-keeping, organizes file systems, and responds to communications within 24-48 business hours.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Program
  • Performs responsibilities in alignment with commitments to funders, partner organizations, and the RTH mission.
  • Answers telephone inquiries and provides registration/enrollment information.
  • Monitors PCR Room rentals and reports discrepancies to the supervisor.
