Welder Apprentice - PaR Systems : Job Details

Summary: While learning the skill of welding and welding procedures through on-the-job training, assist Welders with welding components using a variety of welding processes and equipment to fabricate or repair Naval and commercial products as specified by layout, welding diagram, or work order Responsibilities: Layout weld progression according to welding diagrams, blueprints, or work orders. Prepare and clean welds for inspection. Assist in performing job duties and requirements with related documentation. Set-up weld equipment and perform basic maintenance of weld equipment. Ensure quality of workmanship via pre-determined weld acceptance Comply with all safety rules and promote the importance of safety in the performance of all job functions. Perform other duties as assigned. Required experience, skills and background: Minimum Qualifications: Drug Free High school diploma or GED; Enrolled in technical training. Must have basic math skills (pre-algebra) and basic understanding of welding. Ability to work in a heavy commercial construction, power piping, shipyard welding, or heavy fabrication shop. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols. Ability to function within the working conditions and physical requirements described above.
