Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Welding/Fabrication Trainee at its Tucson Plant. The purpose of the trainee role will be for a successful candidate to gain real world, hands-on experience in the welding career field. A successful candidate will be currently enrolled in or recently having completed a technical training program with an emphasis in welding. This position offers:
  • Salary starts at $18.50/hr based on background and experience
  • Vacation Pay

  • This position will be eligible for a flexible work schedule as to accommodate on-going education. Candidates should anticipate that the bulk of work hours will be accomplished on the weekend shift (Friday-Sunday).

What you bring to the team:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Recently completed or currently enrolled in a technical training program for welding technologies.
  • Safety Orientated.
  • Honest, reliable and able to manage own workload against given priorities
  • Mechanically competent.
  • High level of personal integrity works well in a team.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Adaptable, willing to learn & apply new skills.
  • Must provide own basic hand tools within 30 days of hire. (See attached minimum requirement).
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb stairs and safely access process machinery and controls on a multi-level manufacturing line.
  • Must be able to safely lift equipment/material of moderate weight (50 lbs.).
  • Must be able to wear plant required Personal Protective Equipment. (respirator, hearing protection, safety shoes, safety glasses, etc.)
