Welder/Fabricator Job Duties
- This position is for a TIG Welder in a job shop and custom fabrication work environment.
- Welders will be given a dimensional drawing to work from with varying information.
- Individuals should gather their materials, cut the material to specifications, square off and set up, tack weld, check for approval from the supervisor and then perform finish welding with clean smooth and strong welds or beads.
- Welders will be performing primarily TIG Welding on stainless steel.
- Able to problem solve and catch blueprint issues before welding something incorrectly
- Collaboration with in-house engineering and off-site customers is required to produce quality products efficiently
Welder/Fabricator Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have experience in welding Stainless Steel
- Able to take directions with a good attitude and willingness to do more than just welding.
- Must be able to Read Blueprints, Tape Measure, Levels, and Squares for the fit up/ Tacking of stainless-steel frames
- Must be willing to grind and polish frames with angle grinder for a clean cosmetic look.
- Must be able to use Horizontal band saws to cut their own material when needed.
- Able to do math to use fractions and decimals to insure they are tacking up the frames according to the blueprint dimensions given.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time while fabricating and welding.
- Must keep their work area clean.
- Good working knowledge of basic math, trigonometry & geometry must be used in the shop environment.
- Understanding of GTAW welding fundamentals of different types of materials and fixtures.
- Solid understanding of ERP software used in a job shop environment.
- A fabricator must also be able to follow job instructions, comprehend specifications, and determine the correct fixture setup on their own to achieve a quality final product.
- A fabricator must be able to evaluate product quality and adjust as needed for quality products.
Desired Computer Skills
- Windows based operating systems
- Experience with job shop ERP software such as JobBoss

- High School Degree
- 5 years of experience as a TIG/MIG Welder with specific experience in welding stainless-steel
