Job Summary: Working as a Welder II or III you will produce a wide variety of weldments in a safe, quality, and productive manner. Inspect, perform repairs, and preventative maintenance of plant and quarry equipment. We value teamwork, the skill to understand and surpass customer expectations, and a determined commitment. Essential Functions: Repair, maintain, adjust, and rebuild machinery and equipment. Successful completion of AWS welding certification. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and produce proficiently. Be able to explain the process and timeline required to complete assigned tasks. Follow Welding procedures. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and operating difficulties. Operate overhead cranes and forklifts. Work in elevated and/or confined spaces. Arc gouging. Perform cutting, welding, fabrication, and rigging. Must be able to weld multi-pass welds on weldments in all positions. Read and interpret blueprints along with welding symbols. Able to calculate all information required to create weldments from blueprints. Must be familiar with MIG, TIG, and arc welding procedures. Must be able to wear required PPE. Decipher and weld different types of metals or alloys. Machines/Equipment Operated: GMAW, SMAW, GTAW Welders. Overhead Cranes. Forklifts. Hand power tools. Bucket trucks. Man lifts. Band Saw. Pattern torch and hand torch. Hydraulic press. Ironworker. Drill press. Radial drill. Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Also, completion of an accredited college welding/fabrication program is preferred Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years of welding and fabrication experience. Skills & Knowledge: Must pass certification welding exam. Ability to perform all essential functions listed previously.
