Sets up and maintain welding equipment. Use fixtures or table setups as necessary using clamps or angle plates to produce the correct shapes and dimensions. Can work to tight tolerances. Performs welding in the best sequence to minimize warpage and distortion. Cleans and prepares parts for welding by wire brushing, abrasive shot blast, and aqueous or solvent cleaning. Straighten parts that have been distorted due to machining and or welding.
