Job SummaryThe Welder will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal parts and components used in the production of products within the manufacturing environment. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, setting up and operating welding machines, ensuring weld quality and compliance with specifications, and maintaining welding equipment. The Welder will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and high-quality standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform welding duties including MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux-core welding on various metal parts and components used in the manufacturing processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Set up and operate welding machines and equipment, selecting appropriate materials, welding rods, and settings for each job.
  • Inspect welds for quality and completeness, using measuring tools, gauges, and visual inspections to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order, and report and issues or malfunctions.
  • Ensure all welded materials meet company quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform press operation duties including punch and draw press, drill press, belt sanders, stud machine, saw, or assembly when required.
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies in handling materials, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
  • Assist with assembly or welded parts and components when required.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and resolve issues or challenges as they arise.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Participate in training sessions and safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; welding certification (e.g. AWS, CWI) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in as a welder with proficiency in in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or flux-core welding.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, materials, and safety practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve welding and fabrication issues.
  • Basic math skills to measure, cut, and fit parts to specifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more - Occasional (15-45%)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours) - Continuous (over 75%)
  • Ability to use hands and fingers - Frequent (over 75%)
  • Good vision and hand eye coordination - Frequent (50-75%)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed to lift, sort, and inspect materials - Frequent (50-75%)

  • The role will be performed in a fabrication shop that may be noisy, with exposure to machinery and equipment.
  • Potential exposure to chemicals, dust, or debris depending on the products being handled.
  • Exposure to welding fumes, smoke, and gases.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, safety shoes, welding helmets, etc.) are required.
  • The environment is temperature controlled with potential exposure to heat, especially near the welding arc and metal being welded.
  • Regular interaction with team members and supervisors in a collaborative atmosphere.
