Work Schedule Second Shift (Afternoons)Environmental Conditions Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)Job Description Location/Division Specific Information: The Marietta Manufacturing site is part of the Laboratory Equipment Division within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our laboratory equipment products are used primarily by pharmaceutical companies for drug discovery and development, and by biotechnology companies and universities for life science research. Our offerings include equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage, protection, and analysis. How Will You Make an Impact?: In this role, you will adhere to established manufacturing processes to meet production delivery schedules and uphold the company's quality objectives. You will weld parts according to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring flawless execution and outstanding quality. Collaborate with your colleagues to troubleshoot problems and successfully implement continuous improvement initiatives. A Day in the Life: Position and clamp components of fabricated metal products prior to welding. Set up and adjust welding equipment as needed. Weld metal parts using MIG, TIG, and resistance welding within design specifications. Inspect parts to verify material accuracy and quality. Perform first piece production reviews to confirm compliance. Remove burrs and sharp edges using portable grinders. Track and dispose of scrap, and complete non-conforming tickets. Verify and complete job routing by signing router sheets. Alert supervisor of quality problems and job status. Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. Experience: Required: One year welding experience or welding certification (MIG and TIG) Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to read mechanical drawings. Strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Standing, bending, reaching, and handling bulky parts. Ability to see minute detail for product assembly.
