Supports customer satisfaction with a high quality product delivered in a timely manner. It is expected that the welder will take ownership, problem solve and seek continuous improvement. All work must be completed with a high regard for the safety of others and oneself.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Completes required documentation (charts, logs, checklists)* Consistently performs quality checks by utilizing gauges and metrology equipment, makes adjustments as required to produce assemblies to print.* Creates or modifies weld fixtures to secure components during welding.* Interprets engineering drawings of assemblies and components to perform specialized, non-repetitive MIG welding. Visualizes finished product and produces assemblies that consistently meet print requirements.* Maintains clean, safe, working environment according to 5s and department safety guidelines. Performs additional responsibilities as requested.* Performs production tasks by operating various pieces of equipment as required (saws, drill presses, benders, etc.) Performs work by following standard procedures, and requests changes to standard work when needed.* Performs work efficiently and meets daily production quantity requirements; works overtime as required Verifies weld quality and integrity, and performs weld quality tests, both destructive and non-destructive.* Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or its equivalent.Skills and Abilities* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings for assemblies and components and visualize finished product.* Ability to access and use information systems, i.e., routing displays, draw view, MRP system. Must be able to use a personal computer for a variety of tasks* Ability to perform basic math skills such as adding and subtracting.* Ability to use required measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, tape measure, etc.* Able to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc., which are written in the English language.* Able to bend, twist, and stand for up to 10-12 hours. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.* Must have strong mechanical aptitude* Willing to be flexible with work assignments and possible hours as business needs require.* Able to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.
