The Wellness Attendant creates a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that welcomes people of all skill and fitness levels to our Y. They effectively build community within all wellness programs, helping to consult teens and sign members up for classes. They will help members adhere to the rules to ensure safety and cleanliness to create an impactful environment for all. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Familiar and can communicate information about group fitness classes, personal training and other wellness programs. Familiar with gym equipment and lockers. May be asked to provide youth orientation of equipment. Assist in YMCA special events. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned. RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Successful experience in public relations, reception or sales.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to listen and discern members & guests wants needs and interests.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Current First Aid certification, CPR. *within 30 days of employment or first available training.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must pass extensive background check.
  • Bilingual preferred.
