A typical day as the Wellness Coordinator with the Department of Human Resources would involve managing and promoting health and wellness programs for city employees. Your day may involve coordinating city-wide or department specific wellness programs, activities, workshops, fitness challenges or health screenings/clinics; meeting with employees to discuss health goals, offering guidance on nutrition, exercise, or mental well-being.Additionally, you may collaborate with other departments to implement wellness initiatives or partner with external health service providers for the development of future wellness programming and activities. As the Wellness Coordinator, you would review key population health data from the City's Benefits providers to design, implement, and evaluate programs aimed at improving overall employee health and well-being. Administrative duties would include updating wellness resources, tracking program participation, procuring wellness services, supplies and giveaways, and preparing a variety of reports and budgetary tracking to demonstrate the impact of wellness programs and activities. The role would also support in preparing solicitations for Wellness related RFPs, developing communication materials, such as newsletters, event flyers/posters and managing the Renew Employee Wellness Program social media platforms and City webpage.How much money can I make?This position offers competitive pay depending on education and experience, ranging from $66,658.03 - $80,545.12 a year.This is a full-time position with hours from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday and may include some weekend and evening work.What are the qualifications for this position?Requires a Bachelors Degree in Health and Wellness and Exercise Science, Business Administration or a related field, and 3-5 years of directly related experience in program development, implementation, marketing and promotion; with a preferred emphasis in Wellness, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) designation desirable. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
