About the job Wellness Office Assistant
General Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing professional medical and administrative assistance to the Wellness Department.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Answer telephone, take, and post messages.
* Retrieve refill orders from the refill line.
* Notify pharmacy of requested refills via fax, e-mail, or phone.
* Track/ Input- Refill order tracking.
* Check-in medications received from the pharmacy.
* Update Wellness.
* Notify Residential Director, Coordinator, or Manager via phone or e-mail when medications are ready for pick up.
* Patient care: Taking and recording medical history and vital signs.
* Inventory Management- maintaining stacks of medical and office supplies, including but not limited to ordering and removing out- of - date- supplies.
* Keep/ tracking DMH call logs as required by ADMH.
* Filing making copies as needed.
* Must be or become CPI, CPR, MAC II certified.
* A medical assistant should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Should have some knowledge of medical terminology and display organizational skills.
Scheduled Hours: 7:30am- 4:00pm Monday-Friday
Qualifications for Position: High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience working in a medical office, Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
