Job Description :
The Wellness Specialist/Lil' FISH Club Coach is responsible for assisting in Wellness Outreach programming pertaining to the Lil' FISH Club Program. The Wellness Specialist/Lil' FISH Club Coach works independently and/or in conjunction with other Community Programs team members and departments in the system to ensure programming offered through the Lil' FISH Club meets the needs of the community while focusing on our organizational mission and vision.Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, health education, exercise science, health promotion, fitness, nutrition, or related field preferred.
Certifications/Experience:
  • Minimum of two years' experience in education, health promotion or related field with at least 1-2 years' experience in business development in a comprehensive health and wellness effort in a corporate or community setting preferred.
  • BLS certification required within 6 months of date of hire.
General Responsibilities:
  • Designs and implements all aspects of the Lil' FISH Club program including but not limited to surveys, presentations, newsletters, grant reports, and programming as well as maintains program guide to align with the Indiana Standards of Education.
  • Collaborates with schools/educators to schedule monthly presentations and activities geared towards Lil' FISH Club.
  • Develop health education materials and presentations tailored to elementary age community members encouraging habits conducive to a higher quality of life.
  • Actively seeks out opportunities for growth and expansion for Lil' FISH Club and programming for students at the elementary level.
  • Collaborates with Grants Coordinator and Community Program and Wellness Outreach Manager to research apply for grant funding.
  • Collaborates with internal volunteer services department to package and prepare monthly giveaways and handouts.
  • Research, obtain quotes and order monthly program giveaways.
  • Review monthly grant expenditures pertaining to Lil' FISH Club, prepare monthly invoicing, and complete all necessary and requested grant reports.
  • Assists with all Community Program, Wellness Outreach, and Mobile Health events as needed.

  • Team Member is accountable for areas of responsibility meeting regulatory requirements including but not limited to maintaining annual TB testing, completing annual mandatories (ALC and competency), and maintaining current registration/certification/licensures as appropriate to position requirements.
