Job DescriptionSun River Health provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who seek it, regardless of insurance status and ability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. We are seeking a full-time WIC Qualified Nutritionist to join our Monticello site. Responsible for providing WIC Registration Nutrition Assessment and counseling staff of the WIC program at the assigned site(s). Will be responsible for providing nutrition education for individuals and groups. Performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards. Essential Functions: •Promotes breastfeeding as the normal method of infant feeding and provides guidance to participants having breastfeeding problems. •Provides positive input into the development of program policies and procedures. Actively demonstrates and promotes positive language and participant centered services throughout the workplace. •Responsible for off sites and reports. •Utilizes a participant centered approach including opened questions, affirmations, eye contact, reflective listening and probing questions to complete assessment. •Additional tasks are completed by deadline or in a timely manner upon assignment. •Completes all mandated and non-mandated questions, assigning appropriate risks. Risks are reviewed with participant in a sensitive manner. •Utilizes tools and materials provided, such as common drive materials, scripts and dialogues. •Reviews previously gathered information to follow up and determine if revisions are needed. •Documentation in WICSIS is clear and concise regarding special formulas and exceptional cases.
