We are looking for enthusiastic wine and chemistry lovers to join the harvest lab team at Williams Selyem Winery.We are passionate about crafting exceptional wines that express the uniqueness of the extraordinary vineyard sites we work with. A harvest internship is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the winemaking team and play a crucial role in crafting our wines.New for 2025: Together, we will make wine in our newly constructed harvest facility in Healdsburg, California. We are excited to move into our new winery home and are looking for enthusiastic team members to help make 2025 a remarkable and memorable vintage!This is an excellent opportunity to participate in Harvest, Aging, and Bottling activities. Depending on the season, this position typically starts in early July and continues through mid-December. Potential for a longer-term position may be considered for the right candidate.Successful interns have a good understanding of winemaking concepts and a positive attitude. Candidates should be very organized, accurate, and able to efficiently multitask. This individual should work well in a team setting but also be able to work on tasks alone.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:ALL Perform all standard winery analyses, including Brix, pH, TA, CO2, VA, alcohol, and enzymatic techniques for MA, G/F, NOPA, and NH3. Collect wine and juice samples for tasting and analysis. Monitor tank fermentation for Brix and temperature. Prepare and standardize reagents. Maintain and calibrate all laboratory equipment. Enter data into Excel and Innovint. Generate reports with Innovint and Excel. Assist in cultivating and inoculating yeast and malolactic cultures. Help with wine additions in tanks and barrels. Support cellar tasks, such as punch downs, topping, cleaning, etc.REQUIREMENTS: At least one harvest of lab experience and previous cellar experience is preferred. BS in Enology/Chemistry or equivalent experience. General knowledge of winemaking and viticulture Ability to climb, bend, stand for prolonged lengths of time, and be able to lift 50lbs. Ability to work long, flexible hours through busy harvest time. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age by start of internship. Ability to legally work in the USA.Hourly pay rate is determined based on experience. (Pay range: $21-23/hour.)Lunch and snacks are provided daily.
