Are you looking for an opportunity to learn a new trade? Big C Lumber is currently seeking a full-time Window and Door Installation Apprentice for our Mishawaka Window and Door facility. The ideal candidate is motivated, reliable, and willing to learn. Big C offers opportunities for growth with the potential to lead an install team in the future. Must be available to work full time.Position Summary:
- Prep openings and install windows and exterior doors in new construction
- Climbing ladders and lifting windows
- Abide by OSHA Construction safety standards including fall protection requirements
- Conscientious with a focus on safety and quality
Window and Door Installer Essential Responsibilities:
- #1 priority is to ensure customer satisfaction while never compromising safety
- Use general construction hand and power tools
- Handle routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment
- Understand basic construction and window and door installation specifications
- Meet quality standards and schedule deadlines
- Demonstrate use of good judgment
- Ensure work area is clean, safe, and well-organized
- Assist other employees as needed with their jobs
- Communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers
- Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the general manager
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move 100lbs
- Self-motivation
- Basic math skills
- Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work with minimal supervision when required
- Ability to withstand exposure to harsh weather conditions
