Job DescriptionDuties: Employee shall be responsible for, among other things, performing the following: - Daily scheduling and prioritizing of workload to meet production and efficiency goals.
- Managing all onsite, offsite bulk wine inventories.
- Responsible for managing all production line supervisors, bottling line mechanic and cellar staff.
- Responsible for the scheduling all of all bulk wine processing, transportation and incoming quality control checks.
- Responsible for all pre-production, in-production and post production of ALL wine bottled at facility.
- Responsible for the continued testing of wines post bottling on regular intervals.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and timely analysis records on all bulk and bottled wines.
- Managing all of the bulk wine purchases, contracts per company standards.
- Ability to lift 36 pounds respectively.
- Responsible for ensuring all bottled inventory is accounted for each day as well as all raw materials used per each bottling run.
- Production team member co-hiring and performance reviews.
- Plan and assist in long-range scheduling
- Will directly supervise Production Manager and Cellar Master. Must have previous management experience.
- Work with winemaking staff and production team on daily cellar activities as needed.
- Daily QC of cellar operations to maintain the highest quality standards.
- Work with winemaking staff in identifying and solving enological issues throughout the winemaking process.
- Complete and thorough knowledge of all SOPs.
- Update and maintenance of all SOPs as needed- combine with this other SOP line-item Maintenance of highest standard of cellar hygiene in showcase winemaking facility.
- Assist in writing work orders and perform calculations for cellar operations and additions in company software.
- Check completed work orders to ensure completeness and accuracy of work and TTB compliance.
- Uphold principles and directives as outlined in the Handbook and follow safety regulations
- Understanding and hands on knowledge of all cellar operations which include but not limited to wine transfers, racking, topping, lab equipment, filtering, equipment set up, sanitation, etc.
- Grape handling including the operation of the sorting table, hoppers, inclines, destemmers, bladder presses.
- Running, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining bottling line equipment (sanitation, velocrin, filler, corker, foiler, labeler, box sealer and box labeler).
- Assist in training and supervising permanent cellar staff and temporary harvest staff.
- Troubleshoot and assist in maintenance of facilities, cellar, and lab equipment.
- Forklift operation to move fruit bins, barrels, and case goods, etc.
- Take responsibility in maintenance of bottling supply inventories, including glass, foils, labels, etc.
- Assume lead role to ensure safety of assets (wine, facilities, and equipment).
- Champion a well-organized, clean, and efficient work environment.
- Serve as caretaker for all winery facilities, vineyards, and property.
- Responsible for winery and facilities aesthetics, organization.
- Liaise with Owner on all facilities related issues to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Maintain working relationships with suppliers and ensure highest quality at the lowest possible cost.
- Work closely with winemaking staff to suggest and implement improvements.
- Involved in production tastings of wine and juice samples and provide input in winemaking decisions.
- Generate reports and compile data in house software, Excel and Word as required.
- Check timecards to ensure accuracy and efficient use of time.
- Assist in managing spending to stay within budgetary goals.
- Vineyard assessment at the direction of the owner, including sampling, cluster counting.
- Serve as a representative of the Winery at public functions and PR events.
- Other duties as assigned by the owners.
- Meet with various vendors to negotiate and plan on all raw material allocation and purchases.
- Issue vendor forecasts for raw materials use and issue purchase orders as well.
- Oversight of all raw material incoming orders and storage of raw materials at various winery facilities.
