This role involves ticket checking, traffic control, and ramp maintenance, contributing to positive guest relations and overall lift operation efficiency. Job Relationships:
  • Reports to: Lift Manager and Supervisors
  • Employees Supervised: 0-3 attendants
  • Interrelationships: Works closely and communicates effectively with all Lift Operations department employees, Ski School, Patrol, Groomers, Lift Maintenance, Guests, and other mountain personnel
Job Specifications:
  • Minimum two years of high school, trade school, or equivalent
  • Minimum one season of work experience as a lift attendant
  • Skill in operating basic machinery
  • Ability to provide accurate information and maintain a good attitude during stressful situations
  • Ability to speak clearly and communicate thoroughly with customers and co-workers
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, night skiing shifts, and weekends as requested by the Manager
  • Willingness to work a variety of assignments, including but not limited to bottom and top stations of Fixed-Grip and Surface Lifts
  • Provides training and mentoring for Lift Attendants
  • Skiing/Snowboarding skills are required for some positions
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Specific Duties:
  • General start-up procedures
  • Prepare for and carry out emergency procedures as required
  • Carry out daily lift inspections and maintain a neat and complete lift log, first thing in the morning
  • Ensure full compliance with company and department policies, including all crew members in uniform with name tag
  • Responsible for the rotation of breaks, lunches, and job duties
  • Maintain clean lift shacks and empty trash daily
  • Ensure the lift is supplied with necessary items like tissue, paper towels, cleaner, and trash bags, requesting supplies before they are needed
  • Maintain ramps to be flat and smooth at the correct height
  • Notify supervisor of any safety concerns, required maintenance, or grooming needed
  • Build corrals using diagrams according to predicted skier visits and tear corrals down each evening
  • Monitor and perform proper ticket and scanning operations, checking every ticket every ride
  • Shut down the lift at the end of the day, starting with last chair procedures, and sign out on lift log with time noted
  • Complete Lift Incident reports and/or call supervisor to assist
Work Environment:
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Able to work while standing for extended periods up to 7-8 hours
  • Able to engage in repetitive body motion involving upper body torque during guest loading and snow shoveling
  • Ability to work under varying weather conditions, often extreme in nature
Safety & Wellness:
  • Support and actively promote the success of the Winter Sports, Inc Health & Safety Process, including participation in ongoing programs
  • Follow and comply with OSHA standards as defined by company policy and procedures
  • Report any injury and/or unsafe working conditions to the operator, supervisor, or manager ASAP
All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow-up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity.
