Weyerhaeuser's Aberdeen Timberlands operation, based out of Aberdeen, WA has an opening for a Woods Mechanic. We are seeking an individual who desires to work in a market-focused logging environment. This is a full-time, dayshift hourly position. Hourly employees at this operation are represented by the IAM-AW Union. Benefits (in accordance with the Labor Agreement) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k plans, Vacation and Holidays. Rate of pay ranges from $31.910 per hour to $39.780 per hour, depending on qualifications. Key Functions:
  • Effectively interface with operators to quickly detect, assist or repair equipment, as well as contact or obtain any additional resources necessary to respond to identified maintenance needs
  • Have the ability or willingness to learn laptop diagnostic system, troubleshoot engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, mount tires
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to include changing hoses, fluid changes, etc.
  • Complete and/or assist with diesel engine work (Cummins and Paccar)
  • Perform welding and fabrication functions
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • At least 2 years of diesel school or 3-4 years of on-the-job training
  • Competency to re-build both diesel and gas engines or assist with rebuilds, drivetrains, anti-lock brakes, electrical, emissions systems, etc. (experience with Isuzu, CAT & Perkins preferred)
  • Welding experience, Air-arc/Fabrication knowledge
  • Basic hydraulic working knowledge
  • Safety-conscious, taking the personal initiative to work safely, contributing to the safety of the team members, and maintaining a safe work environment
  • Willingness to Train others
  • Successfully complete a post-offer physical exam, drug screen and background check
This position is designated by WY as a safety-sensitive position. Rate of pay ranges from $31.910 per hour to $39.780 per hour, depending on qualifications.
