Job DescriptionAn Advanced Work Packaging professional plans and performs work requiring sound engineering judgment in the breakdown of large construction projects into smaller, discipline specific, manageable and planned pieces of work for installation by field crews. This position is responsible for promoting Advanced Work Packaging objectives and procedures and coordinating the activities of personnel.Promote Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) objectives and proceduresTrain personnel on organizational policies and project specificsAssist in recruiting, developing and retaining group Lead I and Planner personnelMentor group Planners within the departmentAssist managers in the development of execution sequencing Work with various departments to facilitate the transfer of informationAudit Installation Work Packages (IWPs) to ensure that project requirements are metCoordinate with other construction groups on-site to compile work packagesFacilitate transparent reporting by compiling status updates from personnelTrains junior AWPs and organizational personnel on Client AWP policies and proceduresImplement project AWP program policies across all targetsEstablish strong working relationships with Area ConstructionManagement AWP personnel Manage work package coordination in support of the Path of Construction and ScheduleFacilitate scoping sessions, constraint removal sessions and closeout meetingsWork with the Engineering organization to align Construction Work PackagesEnsure accuracy and availability of data required to build work packagesFacilitate and expedite the removal of construction constraints throughout projectsAssist Project Controls team to align their data management implementation of AWPEnsure good record keeping in accordance with AWP proceduresAssist the group Construction Manager as required Work with the group Construction Manager to ensure logs are in compliance with AWP reporting requirementsBasic Job RequirementsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eighteen(18) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-two (22) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
