Job Summary

The Center for Academic Success seeks a work-study student to serve as a Front Desk Staff (FDS) member to cover our two locations in Edgewater Hall and Laker Hall. This is a part-time, temporary position. The motto of the Center for Academic Success is Helping ALL Clayton State Students Reach Their Academic Potential. The Front Desk Assistant will perform general receptionist duties as well as assist with special projects, events, and other tasks as needed. The Front Desk Assistant will work closely with other staff members to provide an inviting environment for all visitors of the Center. The ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be:
Currently a Clayton State University student.
Resume approved by Career Services. This is a requirement prior to applying for student positions.
2.50 GPA or above.
The ideal candidate should possess:
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and handle multiple tasks to completion.
High standards of ethical conduct while working with students, staff and faculty.
Ability to work as a team member or independently with little supervision.
Willingness to learn new skills.
Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate is student focused, organized and detail-oriented and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to handle CAS & LHSSC patrons with discretion and tact, while being able to work independently and in a team environment.
Position Requirements
Review and monitor tutor log for scheduled appointments and follow established procedures for recording appointment status.
Review and monitor the room reservation log and prepare reserved rooms for use following established procedures.
Monitor and update log-in database queue during assigned work shift.
Deliver various items across campus
Check with CAS staff members for additional assignments.
This position must work a flexible schedule, including morning, afternoon, and evening shifts. Please only apply if you have a flexible schedule.
