Salary: $17.02 Hourly Location : Longview, WA Job Type: Work Study Job Number: 202300099 Division: Student Employees (Division) Opening Date: 04/09/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Details Campus Services is seeking a work study eligible student to work as a Maintenance Assistant. This position has flexible hours (evening and weekend work available). Must be able to lift 30lbs. Work boots required. Note: This position is limited to 19 hours per week and accrues 1 hour of non-compensable sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Examples of Duties & Responsibilities The tasks and responsibilities are of a trainee level and may include, but are not limited to, a combination of the following:
  • Work alongside a journeyman technician
  • set up and take down equipment and furniture
  • painting projects
  • keep grounds neat and orderly through the process of weed removal, picking up brush and branches, remove snow and other hazards, etc.
  • Dig ditches
  • Perform minor repairs to various fixtures/buildings
  • Other tasks as assigned

Anticipated Start Date LCC offers two start dates for new employees - the 1st and 16th or the closest working day. Paid Sick Leave Student employees (work study and student help) accrue sick leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. A sick leave balance not to exceed 40 hours will be carried over into January each year. On-site Childcare Center Theis a state licensed program that offers high quality childcare for children ages 1 month through kindergarten entry to students, staff and faculty. The center is open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program is a participant of the Washington State Early Achievers quality rating and improvement system and rated a level 4-Quality Level of Excellence. Our teachers are trained in the Early Childhood Education field. Social Security All state employees are covered by the federal and Medicare systems.
