Job Description :
Position OverviewEntry level in Workforce Development under direct supervision from a Supervisor, Social Program Coordinator, Workforce Manager, or higher level administrator requiring basic knowledge in customer service in order to perform receptionist and office support to Job Services customersand Workforce Development team. Responsible for a variety of clerical tasks related to the completion and maintenance of customer records, department data tracking, and new/existing customer registration. Provides customers with core employment services (e.g. copying, faxing, resume writing, and job searches).Summary of Job DutiesPerforms customer service (e.g. receives and relays information in person or by phone) while supporting Job Services lobby by greeting customer/visitors and answering phones; Assists customers in need of Workforce Development services with registering as new or existing user through electronic media or paper format; Provides overview of Job Services information (e.g. pamphlets, fliers, websites, partner information); Assigns customers to computer station in Resource Room as requested; Assists customers with individual resume needs (e.g. writing, formatting, emailing, printing and referring to Workforce Specialist); Helps customers understand job search resources (e.g., register and search for jobs on state exchange system, educate on job search sites, navigate internet) to increase likelihood of customer's independent search outcomes.Assures accurate record keeping for data tracking of customer service surveys; Maintains job board by keeping employment fliers up to date; Updates computer databases (e.g. CFIS, Area 7 Surveys) to ensure data accuracy; May assist Workforce team with community outreach and hiring events.Communicates updates to appropriate management regarding any Resource Room concerns (e.g. computer/copier issues and IT resolution changes, customer concerns); Performs related departmental clerical duties such as maintaining Job Bank supplies and computer stations.(Performs Related Duties As Required)Minimum Qualifications and RequirementsMust have a valid driving license and proof of insurance. High school diploma or equivalent AND 6 months of face-to-face experience in customer service plus 3 months of experience in office practices and procedures, database use, and spreadsheets and/or completion of Customer Service Certificate program -OR- alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements(Other Evidences May Be Substituted)
