Job Summary: Wound Care needs to have a strong nursing background with great skills to provide care needed to the residents. Must be able to lead and direct employees. Must have strong communications skills and able to talk with physicians, residents, families and outside entities. Strong organizational skills and ability to review documentation to ensure proper care is provided to the residents you are responsible for. Nursing skills include supervision of the direct care staff, shared staffing on call responsibility. Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct care nursing staff in the facility The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for treating and managing wounds, pressure ulcers, ostomies and surgical incisions. They work closely with members of the nursing team to ensure that personalized treatment plans are followed correctly in order to prevent future infection or injury.
