Overview:
Radiology Technician is responsible for performing general x-ray in addition to assists the physicians) during fluoroscopy procedures and practices sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination when necessary. Performs various types of radiographs from all areas within the physician office setting.

Responsibilities:
- Follow instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patients body needs imaging.
- Talk the patient through the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety.
- Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
- Prepare patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient.
- Follow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs and placing orders.
- Documenting patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Contributes to and consistently applies Catholic Health policies, procedures, and benefits to all customers and/or employees without discrimination.
- Minimizing radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
- Radiologic applicants must be graduates from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT cert is required as well as current NY State license as a Registered Radiological Technologist or Registry eligible.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider CPR or CRP/AED certification.
Experience:
- At least one year of Radiologic Technologist preferred.
Posted Salary Range: USD $38.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr. :
