Yard Associate Trainee - Galleher Industries : Job Details

SUMMARY Participates in activities with other yard and shop workers in receiving, storing, inventory, picking, counting, loading and unloading of steel and lumber and must have a willingness to learn metal and wood fabrication techniques, and operate various machines. Basic warehouse and general housekeeping duties. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: General warehouse duties performed inside or outside the shop. Handling material of all types including metal roll formers, benders, press brakes, etc. Work is considered repetitive at times. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that material transfer activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner, completing physical tasks quickly and accurately.
• Loading and unloading materials
• Maintain tidiness and cleanliness in the yard or shop; locating and moving of stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment, assists with organization of product, stacking, storing, cleaning.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies upon delivery of goods.
• Manage personal safety by maintaining compliance with safety guidelines, reporting discrepancies, and recommending actions to ensure safety in the yard.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18 per hour Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Warehouse experience: 1-2 years preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Experience in forklift operations preferred, but we will train.
• Experience with pallet jacks, helpful.
• Must be dependable with attendance having reliable transportation
• Must produce valid authorization to work in the U.S.
• Training & development: 1 year preferred.
• Shipping & receiving: 1 year preferred.
• Inventory experience: 1 year preferred.

License/Certification:

• Forklift Certification - Experience preferred but we will train.
