*TITLE*: Yard Team MemberFor a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.*ACCOUNTABLE TO*:* Yard Foreman* Assistant Manager* General Manager*JOB SUMMARY:*Farmer's Lumber Company is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Yard Team Members. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate inventory, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring the safe handling and storage of materials. You will work in an outdoor environment, often operating heavy equipment, and contribute to the overall appearance and functionality of our yard. We are looking for dependable and detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a team environment and are eager to learn.*PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES*:1) *Accounts Receivable*:A. Accurately enter all invoices for non-quoted material. Only enter quoted material if charge-out pricing is included on the pick slip. Do not enter any special-order items.2) *Inventory Control*:A. Maintain accurate inventory records of all incoming materials. Also, maintain an accurate “dunnage” list for all material discarded due to damage or outdated status.B. Follow proper check-in procedures to ensure accuracy between pick slips and materials received.C. Label all incoming inventory and store it promptly to reduce damage.D. Rotate inventory upon receipt to ensure older stock is sold first.E. Notify the Yard Foreman of materials that need to be ordered.3) *Deliveries*:A. Exercise care when loading and delivering material to avoid damage.B. When possible, confirm with the customer where they would like the material placed.C. Check loads against the pick slip to ensure accuracy of shipped materials.4) *Equipment Maintenance*:A. Promptly report all equipment problems or damage.B. Report any damage to buildings or racking systems immediately for repair or replacement.5) *Equipment and Yard Appearance*:A. Keep aisles clear and sweep regularly.B. Put away incoming inventory in a timely manner.C. Wash equipment as needed.D. Store inventory to prevent damage.6) *Retail Sales*:A. Assist retail customers promptly and with a friendly attitude.7) *Driving Record*:A. Must maintain a current driver's license with a clean driving record.B. Must have the appropriate licenses for equipment being used (CDL for truck/trailer and straight truck; forklift training provided).C. CDL training may be provided at the company's expense for the right applicant.8) *Physical Requirements:*A. Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds frequently.B. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.C. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.D. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and trucks as needed.E.
