Youth Care Specialist Autism Respite House: St. Louis, MO
Schedule: This weekend position requires availability for evening and overnight shifts. It is a PRN role, with a minimum requirement of (one shift per week)
Experience preferred but not required Job Summary As a Youth Care Specialist (YCS), you will provide for the physical and emotional needs of the clients assigned to your cottage and facilitate a healthy group living experience. You will also participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients. This position is great start to gain experience in the mental health/social services fields!
Responsibilities Provide for the physical and emotional needs of clients, including:
- Providing meals and snacks
- Assisting with personal care
- Monitoring medication
- Intervening in crisis situations
Facilitate a healthy group living experience, including:
- Creating a positive and supportive environment
- Managing conflict
- Enforcing house rules
- Participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team in the care of clients, including:Attending treatment team meetings
- Providing input on treatment plansImplementing treatment plans
Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Class E driver's license with good driving record
- Strong customer service focus
- Excellent time management
- Oral and written communication skills
- Word, Excel, and e-mail applications proficiency
- Must be 21 years old to apply
- Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check required
