Youth Care Worker
Position Summary:
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with youth, demonstrates appropriate boundaries, and ensures appropriate care and supervision.
Essential Duties:
- Acquires, maintains, teaches and demonstrates knowledge of Prevention of Sexual Abuse (PSA)and Sexual Harassment standards at care provider facilities, evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed care and maintains a professional environment that is consistent with Title 22, licensing regulations, and established agency policies.
- Demonstrate effective and consistent Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
- Maintain vigilant supervision of youth placed in 24/7 care.
- Actively engage and encourage youth towards their treatment goals and in daily living.
- Regularly transport youth to appointments, recreation activities, court, family visits, etc.
- Prepare timely and accurate documentation.
- Understand and retain instructions for complex tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
Compassionate caregivers wanted to supervise children and youth in a short term shelter. High SchoolDiploma or equivalent degree and a minimum of 1 year employment experience in the child welfarefield working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting. Must care about the safety andwell-being of youth, and be able to provide structure, consistency, and kindness.
Additional Requirements:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver's license.
- Must be able to successfully complete and maintain required certifications and trainingincluding, but not limited to, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR.
- Must be able to understand and follow policy and procedures.
Salary Range: $42,640 - $46,904The posted pay scale for this position serves as a general disclosure. Actual pay offered within the range will be dependent on individual factors such as skills, qualifications, and relevant experience
