We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency ( RLA ) for the Special Education Local Plan Area ( SELPA ); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22). Job Summary
Youth Development Coordinators independently administer youth development programs on Calaveras County school campuses. The purpose of these programs is to build leadership skills and student confidence, and reduce alcohol and drug use and abuse. Programs include Friday Night Live Leadership in high schools, Club Live in middle schools, Calaveras Youth Council, GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) Clubs, and Tobacco Use Prevention Education. Job duties include planning and facilitating weekly meetings and activities on school campuses, recruiting youth participants, building supportive relationships with students, collecting and reporting data, coordinating special events and student campaigns, working with the California Friday Night Live Partnership, and administering an annual countywide student survey. The successful applicants will be highly motivated and energetic team players, have initiative, be self-directed, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. CCOE employees on a 39 or 63-month reemployment list will have hiring preference over a non-CCOE employee. Applications submitted without required documents may not be considered for interview.
