Job Type Part-time Description In your job as a Youth Development Professional at our Brooksville Elementary Unit, you'll:

  • Lead a group of up to 25 children, in Kindergarten through 5th grade, in before-and-after school programming
  • Deal effectively with members concerning behavior and discipline issues
  • Communicate effectively with children using appropriate language, tone of voice, and body language
  • Participate in activities alongside members; Encourage and facilitate members' participation in all activities
  • Ensure a fun, safe and healthy environment, both physically and mentally
  • Establish positive relationships with children and act as a mentor and role model at all times
  • Take attendance, complete incident/accident reports and guidance notices for behavior
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies and cleanliness of indoor/outdoor areas used
  • HAVE FUN!
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Monday through Friday
  • Split Shift, approximately 6:15 - 9:30 AM AND 2:30 - 6:00 PM for approximately 30 hours/week
  • No overtime

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation. You have to get to work twice a day!
  • Reliable attendance!
  • A positive attitude and the ability to lead by example
  • Commitment to enhancing the lives of Hernando County's children
  • Ability and willingness to complete training requirements within the 90-day introductory period.
  • Ability to pass a Level II background check and pre-employment drug test
