Position Summary
The Youth Program Manager will play a vital role in delivering impactful programming directly to youth while supporting broader community engagement efforts. This position emphasizes hands-on engagement with participants through workshops, mentorship, and project-based learning. The role also requires a strong understanding of digital tools to enhance program delivery and youth engagement. Additionally, the Youth Program Manager will occasionally facilitate community workshops and support program assessment activities to ensure programming remains responsive and effective.

Key Responsibilities Direct Youth Services (Primary Focus):
- Facilitate engaging and culturally responsive workshops and activities that inspire leadership, advocacy, and social-emotional growth.
- Mentor youth participants, fostering their development as leaders, advocates, and storytellers.
- Guide project-based learning experiences, including activities such as podcast production, media interviews, photography, and advocacy projects.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with youth and provide individualized support to ensure their success and well-being.
- Incorporate digital tools and visual storytelling techniques, including photography, to enhance learning experiences and foster creativity among participants.
Program Management and Delivery:
- Plan and implement program activities and schedules to meet organizational goals.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
- Coordinate logistics for workshops, events, and youth-focused activities.
Community Workshops and Engagement (Supplemental Duties):
- Facilitate occasional workshops for families, schools, and community members to promote youth development, social justice, and community well-being.
- Represent the organization at community events, forums, and meetings to strengthen relationships and raise awareness about the program.
- Support outreach and recruitment efforts to increase program visibility and engage diverse community members.
- Collaborate with the team to plan and execute events that build strong partnerships among families, schools, and community stakeholders.
Supportive Role in Program Assessment:
- Assist with data collection for program assessments and community needs evaluations, such as surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
- Collaborate with evaluators and stakeholders to ensure assessment processes are inclusive and youth-centered.
- Incorporate feedback and findings into program design to enhance effectiveness and impact.
Volunteer and Staff Coordination:
- Train and support volunteers assisting with youth programming and community workshops.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure cohesive and impactful program delivery.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of youth participation, program activities, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports summarizing direct service activities and contributions to program goals.
Qualifications Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field.
- Coursework or experience in trauma-informed practices, community engagement, or culturally responsive teaching is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing direct services to youth, including mentorship, education, or leadership roles.
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with community stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project-based and inquiry-driven learning methods.
- Photography experience, including using visual storytelling to support youth development, is strongly encouraged.
Skills:
- Proficiency with digital tools and platforms for program delivery, such as audio editing software, virtual facilitation tools, and photography tools.
- Strong facilitation and mentorship skills to engage and inspire diverse groups of youth.
- Ability to develop meaningful relationships with participants and act as a trusted mentor.
- Basic knowledge of program assessment and evaluation practices, with a willingness to support these processes.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to balance direct service and program planning.
Preferred:
- Experience in media production, such as photography, podcasting, video editing, or storytelling.
- Background in culturally responsive education or trauma-informed practices.
