Job Title: Youth Programming Specialist
Job Status: Full-time
Job Summary:Under general supervision, the Youth Programming Specialist uses specialized knowledge in youth organizing and professional experience in philanthropy, community organizing, and nonprofit capacity building, to develop and implement ACCESS- strategy for engaging and empowering youth in the organization-s national work, particularly the Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP). The employee is responsible for developing and executing engaging content for youth participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working with leadership of ACCESS and its national institutions, develop strategies to engage youth in ACCESS programming and keep them connected with the organization
Oversee youth development programs including CAAP-s Teen Grantmaking Initiative, NNAAC-s Transformative Leaders Fellowship, Digital Connectors, ACCESS ACTS, among others
Manage CAAP-s numerous scholarship programs, including driving strategy for engagement of scholarship recipients and alumni, regularly communicating with scholarship review committees, leading review meetings, and ensuring high quality of materials being presented
Develop and maintain an agency-wide Youth Advisory Council, made up of participant and alumni representatives from ACCESS- diverse youth programs
Working with teams from ACCESS and its national institutions, develop and manage creative engagement and mentorship strategies for youth program participants and alumni
Lead youth engagement strategies and programming at major ACCESS events and convenings including the MOVE conference
Plan, execute and lead events and relevant programming for participants and alumni from ACCESS youth programming
Develop an agency-wide strategy of data collection for participants and alumni of ACCESS youth programs, maintaining database to ensure accuracy of information
Intentionally connect participants and alumni of ACCESS youth programs to professional and leadership development opportunities including conferences, trainings, workshops, internships and job opportunities through community connections and partnerships
Partner with the Human Resources department to develop and implement ways to engage volunteers, fellows, and interns at ACCESS as well as build a talent pipeline for ACCESS careers from our youth program alumni
May be responsible for leading and/or supporting planning and execution of other national programs and events
May direct the work of committees and teams
Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Intermediate concepts, principles and practices of social work and youth organizing
Intermediate concepts, principles and practices of philanthropy, fundraising and development
Skill in:
Volunteer management
Grantmaking initiative protocols and procedures
Grantmaking and donor-advised fund procedures
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office
Ability to:
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Incite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

o Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field
