An ideal candidate for this position will be energetic, creative, engaging, and be able to work effectively on a team. Will need to demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to manage group dynamics among adolescents (13-17 year olds). This is a great position for a recent college graduate with psychology, social work, and ABA background.Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing direct care services; works with persons served & multidisciplinary team to plan & implement the plan of care & subsequent reviews reporting changes in service.
- Assists clients in preparing for group activities; plans and facilitates therapeutic groups and activities, on the topics of: coping skills, anger management, life skills, health and nutrition, communication, values clarification, and goal setting.
- Provides transportation of all program participants to and from program and adheres to all transportation policies and procedures.
- Organizes and maintains presentation of the program group spaces and supply areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
- Valid NJ driver's license
- Complete background check
- CPR/AED/First Aide (provided)
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two years' experience in the provision of appropriate services to youth;Competencies:
- Group experience
- Proficiently communicates- both written and verbal
- Exhibits critical thinking, adaptability and flexibility
- Demonstrates empathy and compassion
- Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams)
- Satisfactory criminal background check, including a CARI check.
- Maintains required CPR/First Aid certification
