Job DetailsJob LocationHazel Atlas - Wheeling, WVDescriptionJob Summary: The Youth Support Specialist is responsible for promoting awareness of the Regional Youth Services Center services. This position'sfocus is to increase accessibility and use of behavioral health and support services available to youth, young adults, and their families. This position will work in collaboration with schools and other youth-serving organizations. The Youth Support Specialist will be trained to assist with initial screening and link individuals to needed services. The Youth Support Specialist will also provide individual and group supportive early intervention and recovery support for youth young adults within schools and the community utilizing evidence-based programs. This employee will ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environments in compliance with established agency standards, licensing regulations, and generally accepted practices.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide outreach to youth, young adults, families, community providers, healthcare agencies, schools etc.
- Assist with the initial screening.
- Provide individual and group supportive early intervention.
- Provide Peer Recovery Support
- Link consumer to referral/outreach center, assessment/diagnostic services, necessary treatment, and support services.
- Assist as a treatment team member.
- Public speaking to promote awareness and accessibility.
- Attend community meetings to promote awareness and accessibility.
- Assist with tracking and reporting performance measures.
- Assist with transportation to improve accessibility.
- Assist with insurance enrollment if necessary.
- Complete all required documentation and grant reporting.
- Attend necessary training and meetings.
- Assist with the development of brochures and other marketing tools.
- Work in collaboration with all forms of media to promote the Regional Youth Services Center.
- Maintain necessary certification/licensure.
- Assist with coordinating community training.
- Participate in program development as needed
- Other duties as needed

Education and Experience: Requires Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, or related human services field; Prefers 1-2 years of previous experience with evidence-based intervention and recovery programs. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as required by law
