ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.* Administer medication and treatment prescribed by physicians* Maintain up-to-date cumulative health records and other health related data on all students requiring nursing intervention* Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on student health matters* Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student who has suffered an injury or emergency illness* Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures* Implement board policy on exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases* Conduct training for students related to handicap, health and hygiene* Assist school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools* Assist staff members with necessary and required health/safety trainings* Oversee vision/hearing screenings, BMI and nutrition for students* Attend meetings and/or training as requested, required and/or needed* Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met* Display professionalism in appearance, attitude, and actions* Follow code of ethics for educators
