**Purpose of this position**
The purpose of this position is to implement facility housekeeping procedures in a efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
**Qualifications**
* Must have current license. (if applicable)
* License must be free of any encumbrances. (if applicable)
* Must not have any disqualifying findings barring employment as stated by State or Federal regulations.
**Delegation of authority**
* Follow housekeeping procedures to meet residents needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements
* Participate in the monitoring system for the housekeeping department
* Notify supervisor when supplies are needed
* Notify supervisor when equipment in need of repair
* Notify supervisor when areas of the facility are in need of repair
**Primary Functions and Responsibilities**
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
- Operate housekeeping equipment safely.
- Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy; follow directions.
- Assist in proper care of housekeeping equipment.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
- Report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor.
- Use housekeeping supplies efficiently.
- Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping employees.
- Observe infection control procedures related to Housekeeping Department.
- Follow Residents Rights policies at all time.
- Follow facility safety program.
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Assume accountability for data contained in the employees handbook.
- Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.

- Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
- Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
- Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be. Report such occurrences on the shift in which they occur.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing director when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Agree not to disclose assigned user I.D. code and password for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the supervisor.
