The nurse will treat student injuries and illnesses, and advise students, their parents, and staff on health-related issues. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing assessment, intervention, and documentation for students
- Administer medications and provide individual health instructions
- Complete, process, and follow up on accident reports with students and staff
- Maintains reports of all incidents, injuries, and other health problems
- Communicate with parents regarding health-related incidents
- Supervises compliance with immunization and communicable disease regulations
- Provides emergency aid to students and staff if needed
- Planning and implementing school health management protocols and procedures
- Providing school staff with current information about students' health concerns and care on a confidential and need-to-know basis
- Follow district policy relative to delinquent physicals and immunizations
- Maintains privacy and confidentiality regarding a student's health and medical information per state and federal laws
- Manage and monitor reports of communicable diseases
- Run an organized, efficient, and effective health office
- Complete mandated state health reports
Job Skills/Requirements
- Educator Licensure with a concentration in School Nursing; BA Degree preferred
- Nurses with AA and LPN, CNA considered
- AED Certified
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- 7.5 Hours per day, pay determined by education
- BA-$26.75 per hour, AA-22.75 per hour, LPN-20.75 per hour, CNA-$19.75 per hour
