Our StoryIn August 1991, Care-a-lot opened the doors of their first center in Greece. The community enthusiastically responded to the quality of early childhood education and care available at the center. Because of their strong reputation, Care-a-lot is now serving families in eight locations in the Rochester community: North Greece, South Greece, Henrietta, Pittsford, Fairport, Farmington/Canandaigua, Browncroft Day Care Center, and Victor Child Care.In 2023, Generations Child Care joined the Care-a-lot family. Care-a-lot is committed to maintaining the excellent service that Generations has provided to children and families for decades and is excited to start this new chapter as we continue to grow! Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide competent supervisor and daily care to all children in your assigned classroom
- Use a variety of techniques when conducting activities including modeling, observing, demonstrating, open-ended questioning and reinforcement
- Ensure that all activities offered are carried out in a safe, efficient, and motivating manner
- Provide positive guidance to children that include positive language, positive reinforcement and redirecting
- Assist with keeping classroom clean, neat, organized and inviting to children and families
- Promotes self-esteem while encouraging self-help skills
- Stay current with Generations policies, OCFS regulations, National Accreditation guidelines and other pertinent regulations (CACFP, Health Department, etc.).
- Daily in person contact with families, co-workers and supervisors to exchange information related to care and development of children in your care

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience working with children
- Flexibility
- Attention to detail
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications are required, or willingness to complete within the first year
- Positive attitude with the ability to integrate into a team to work towards the mission and goals of Generations
