Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Contract Attorney to provide legal assistance to our in-house legal counsel. The primary responsibilities of this position will involve filing commercial collections cases in New York City. The Contract Attorney will also directly assist companies and in-house counsel in California. This is a contract position based on an hourly basis.Responsibilities:- Conduct legal research and analysis to support commercial collections cases in New York City.- Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.- File necessary legal documents with the appropriate courts and agencies.- Represent the company in court proceedings and hearings related to commercial collections cases.- Collaborate with in-house counsel to develop legal strategies and provide assistance with legal matters.- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to ensure effective case management.- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents pertaining to New York and California commercial collections.- Provide legal advice and guidance to in-house counsel and company executives regarding contract-related issues.Requirements:- Strong knowledge of contract law and civil litigation procedures.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage caseload.- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Familiarity with California contract law is a plus.- Availability to work on a contract and handle flexible work hours as needed.Application Process:To apply, please submit your resume, cover letter.
