Overview:
Assemble and pack wood crates to ship orders of metal overhead steel doors and door components.
Responsibilities:
- Verify dimensions needed for shipping crates using shipping report.
- Set up, operate, and adjust a variety of woodworking machines such as skill saws and radical arm saws to cut and shape wood sections according to specifications.
- Fit, fasten, and assemble wood parts together to form crate using air-powered nail gun.
- Pack crate with metal parts for steel doors listed to be shipped to customer from shipping report.
- Pack crate with insulation to ensure steel parts do not move inside crate during shipping.
- Fasten address/shipping label to crate.
- Use air powered hand tools such as drills and screw guns.
- Keep work area clean and neat.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One to two years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
- Basic reading, writing and math, including reading a tape measure, skills required.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Experience operating radial arm saws.
