POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Curriculum Management at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is an academic official within the OME who reports to the Associate and Senior Associate Deans for Medical Education. The Director is the administrative team leader for operations of the office including several critical functions including providing administrative support for curricular directors; maintaining and enhancing student interfaces with the curriculum; ensuring smooth curricular logistics for directors, instructors, and students; overseeing curriculum and assessment mapping processes, reports, and presentations; managing the Teaching Star program that provides and tracks instructor orientation and teacher training; reviewing, revising, and generating important policies; addressing standardization in templates across curricular elements in the learning management system; tracking annual changes to curriculum and assessments; and generating reports based on learning performance in meeting educational competencies. The Director interfaces with and acts as a leader among numerous stakeholders across the institution. The Director is responsible for staffing the curriculum management and educational support services units in OME and for the supervision, mentoring, and evaluation of those staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities OPERATIONS, POLICIES, AND SOPs

-Serve as the primary educational policy liaison for the OME and play a key role in ensuring policies are updated and compliant with evolving accreditation standards.

-Lead the development of new policies and standard operating procedures and update existing ones to meet internal and accreditation standards.

-Recruit, onboard, orient, review the performance of, and develop staff members for the curriculum management unit of OME.

-Oversee the Assistant Director of Operations of OME in the management of the educational support services unit of OME.

-Plan and execute orientation for new course/clerkship/acting internship directors.

-Collaborate with Block Leaders to ensure the successful implementation of the curriculum and exam administration processes across the curriculum.

-In collaboration with Einstein Block Leaders, draft and circulate annual curricular calendars.

-Arrange and supervise training for staff and faculty on curriculum management programs, reports, forms, evaluation, and grading systems.

-Ensure effective and efficient delivery of the curriculum, including course logistics, the learning management system, and room scheduling and set up.

CURRICULUM/ASSESSMENT MAPPING/LEARNER PERFORMANCE DATA ANALYSIS

-Meet with all curricular directors annually to identify changes to curriculum and/or assessments and to assist them in mapping their curriculum and assessments to Einstein EPOs and other important targets.

-Ensure mapping data is tracked and run mapping reports, comparing those reports with the prior years data and ensuring adherence with accreditation and internal policy requirements.

-Design, run, and present curriculum mapping reports as well as reports demonstrating learner performance in meeting key educational outcomes to various committees and other stakeholders

-Oversee the tracking of teaching methods used to achieve learning objectives and advise faculty on mechanisms to improve active learning in collaboration with OMEs instructional design unit.

-Develop and oversee tracking and documentation systems for student outcomes, linked to educational program objectives.

-Maintain expertise in mapping, understanding, and leading trends and innovations in this space locally, regionally, and nationally.

TEACHING STAR

-Hire, orient, onboard, and supervise a Teaching Star Manager.

-Coordinate, oversee, track compliance, and implement quality improvement approaches for the Teaching Star program in collaboration with the Manager.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

-Participate in strategic planning for the MD curriculum, including space, staffing resources, IT/software needs, scheduling, and anticipating conflicts and issues;

-Serve as a core member of the OME leadership team collaborating on strategic planning for the unit.

-Serve on curricular committees, ad hoc working groups, and task forces to ensure high-quality programs are in place.

CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

-Administer Continuous Quality Improvement strategies for programs within the curriculum management units duties and responsibilities.

-Oversee and ensure the successful review process of courses and clerkships at the course directors and clinical directors subcommittees, respectively. Make recommendations to the Program Evaluation and Curriculum Improvement Subcommittee and Executive Committee on trends and strategic initiatives related to this CQI process.

OTHER

- Teach in the curriculum, as able.

- Proactively work with students, instructors, directors, deans, and staff to ensure a positive learning environment.

- Promote diversity and inclusivity

- Participate in educational committees and task forces, contributing educational expertise.

- Participate in local, regional, and national medical education conferences and disseminate work in a scholarly manner.

- Assist in preparation for accreditation site visits.

- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree strongly desired with at least five years of relevant experience with increasing leadership of team members, demonstrated skills in the collection and analysis of data to support informed decision-making. Experience in building dashboards that utilize data from multiple sources is desired as is experience in project management, report writing, and curriculum development and evaluation.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in education or related field. Four years of progressively more responsible management experience. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing processes, program components, and staff.

Proficiency in PC and Mac-based software, Microsoft Office suite.

Proficiency with learning management systems software (e.g. Canvas or equivalent)

Proficiency with data visualization software (e.g. Tableau)

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently under time constraints, communicate effectively, problem solve, think critically, demonstrate flexibility, possess negotiation skills, and work collaboratively in complex interdisciplinary settings.

Minimum Salary Range: USD $110,000.00/Yr. Maximum Salary Range: USD $125,000.00/Yr. About Us:
