Frankenmuth-Birch Run Veterinary Hospital has an exciting, one-of-a-kind opportunity for a Veterinarian like you.

About the position

We are seeking full-time, part-time or relief Veterinarians to grow our Urgent Care team at Frankenmuth-Birch Run Veterinary Hospital is located in the heart of Birch Run, Michigan. The incoming Veterinarians will have the freedom to create their own schedule, will only see non-life-threatening cases, and our urgent care shifts start at just 6 hours in length! Plus, CareVet Veterinarians receive industry-leading benefits that ensure work/life balance and premium pay of $150/hour for relief shifts / part-time shifts. Full-time benefits start at 30 hours / week and we offer a $170,000 salary.

Responsibilities:

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery on animals
• Test for and vaccinate against diseases
• Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
• Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
• Prescribe medication
• Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
• Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
