The acute-care Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides direct care of patients by leading history and physical exams, daily rounds, ordering medications and lab testing, discharge or home care planning and education of the patient and family. Responsibilities Evaluating laboratory data, EKG and CXR interpretation. Develop and implement patient and families plan of care. Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians and ancillary staff. Practice protocols as designated in agreement with supervising/collaborating physician. Nurse Practitioner Current New York State RN license. Experience in pertinent areas of nursing practice. Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program. National certification as Nurse Practitioner or active pursuit within one year. Physician Assistant Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program, National certification as Physician Assistant or eligible. Current New York State PA license or eligible.
