Share our passion for providing a friendly, welcoming and high-quality service to primary school children visiting our magical environmental education Centre in the heart of the New Forest.
Minstead Study Centre offers residential environmental education visits to primary school children from across Hampshire and beyond. Located in the New Forest, our Centre welcomes school visitors around the year, who take part in a wide array of environmentally-themed outdoor learning activities. We are a small Centre, and the family atmosphere created by the whole team is a vital part of our appeal to our visitors.
For the breakfast cook, this is the opportunity to prepare continental breakfasts for visitors to the Centre, providing catering and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to groups first thing in the morning.
With previous experience in a role where you have prepared food or cooked for groups of people, you will normally cater for for up to 38 children and members of staff.
In this busy and yet rewarding role, you will work with our other cooks to look after the stock rotation and order food, as well as having input into the menu. You will ensure that food is prepared, cooked and served in a safe and hygienic environment whilst making sure all dietary needs are met.
Hygiene is of vital importance and the breakfast cook will be responsible for ensuring that the kitchen and dining room areas are thoroughly cleaned ready for and after every use.
During school holidays and occasional weekends, the centre is used for non-school courses and events. Some of these may request catering, we envisage that the 3 additional weeks added to the role over the holidays would be worked flexibly to cover these.
Working hours will include:
Tuesdays: 07:30 10:00
Wednesdays: 07:30 11:00
Thursdays: 07:30 10:00
Fridays: 07:30 10:00
