Must be able to fulfill all job responsibilities and physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation.Position ObjectiveThe Retreat Staff Team Member will work in various capacities to help all guests at Carolina Creek know and experience the love of Jesus Christ. Duties include but are not limited to: facilitating activities, serving meals and providing food service support such as dishroom and front-of-house activities, providing hospitality such as greeting, parking, giving tours, cleaning common areas, preparing housing areas and meeting rooms for use. They will assist with Programs run by Carolina Creek and may be asked to Team Lead, chaperone campers by sleeping in a cabin, participate in a drama, lead a small group Bible Study or games. They will assist all departments in preparing for summer camp operations (spring), and/or Lone Star Lights (fall.) They are responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship in a manner consistent with Carolina Creek's mission, vision and values.Job Type
Job Pay
- Day rate of $50 plus room and board for days worked
Key Job Accountabilities
- Participate in regular corporate prayer, worship and Bible study.
- Able to answer questions about Christian doctrines and belief from their own personal experience
- Possess the ability to pray with and/or initiate prayer with staff members and guests.
- Facilitate Carolina Creek adventure/recreation, aquatics, and target sports in a safe manner.
- Assist the Guest Experience Team in the logistics of arrival and departure of guest groups.
- Assist the Guest Experience Team in the cleaning of dining halls, common areas, and cabins.
- Assist the Kitchen Staff in serving meals, cleaning front-of-house, and doing dishes for all guest groups.
- Assist the Program team in facilitation programs including helping as a team leader, facilitator, lifeguard or in any aspect of keynote sessions..
- Assist as requested with general grounds upkeep including picking up litter, emptying trash cans, washing camp vehicles, painting, using blowers or power-washers to clean exteriors of buildings or sports courts..
- Assist the Human Resources Team in preparing for recruiting events, garage sales, and fairs.
- Assist the Lone Star Lights team in organizing, preparing, and setting up.
- Attend all required staff meetings and events.

- Reports to the Fall Staff Coordinator
- Assigned to other Department Supervisors, Directors, and Hosts according to task
- May be asked to lead a small functional work crew if appropriate
QualificationsEducation/Certifications/Licenses
- Must have a current valid driver's license.
- Must have a valid Texas Food Handlers Certification (can complete after hire)
- Must have current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (can complete after hire)
- Lifeguard certification preferred but not required
Work Experience
- Previous Christian Camping or youth ministry experience preferred

- Must be willing to learn how to facilitate all of Carolina Creek's activities

Physical DemandsThe physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in all weather conditions (hot, humid, rain, cold) conditions up to 16 hours a day. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and ability to lift/carry anywhere from 15 to over 60 lbs. Must be able to see at close and far distances for supervisory duties and safety. Must be able to hear and give instructions and commands in large and small areas. Must be able to understand and communicate in English.Additional Requirements

- Satisfactory completion of background investigation, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
