Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing and Acquiring businesses in more than 170 markets worldwide.We are now looking for a full-time Strategy and Planning expert. Ideally based in New York, but open to other locations. The Network Strategy Director will lead a team and be responsible for defining the long-term plan for the Network, lead the development process for new products and features and establishing how new technologies will influence the future of payments. This will be done through internal partnership and an external focus on industry innovation activities.What you will do:Be a leader: developing a team of highly engaged colleagues, fostering a culture of inclusivity, empowerment, growth, and innovation.Be a strategist: defining the roadmap and crafting the vision for the next 5 yearsBe a product expert: driving the product development process and ensuring end-to-end product enablement.Be a consultant: partnering with key business partners to help define individual business unit priorities.Be a communicator: engaging with senior management to provide insights and updates on key activities.Be an investigator: proactively and continuously evaluating industry events and trends, providing insights for the leadership team.Be a game-changer & innovator: taking the initiative to define and create ground-breaking new business opportunities.Be a collaborator: building partnerships across the Enterprise and leading cross-functional activities that drive significant priorities.Be an organizer: coordinating and leading internal forums, steering committees, and working group meetings, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged and are brought along in the journey. Who you are:Experience: Strong track record of defining a strategy and staying close to innovative ideas and technology advancements.Product Expertize: Proven track record of managing products through the End-to-End lifecycle and understanding of the key steps and processes.Leadership skills: Tried and tested leadership skills that inspire your colleagues and help train the next generation of leaders.Entrepreneurial mindset: You are comfortable with ambiguity and able to challenge the status quo.Intellectual curiosity: A consultant mentality with the ability to distill ideas, connect the dots from across multiple business topics, organize the information and tell a story.Highly collaborative: A willingness to work in a large company and work with multiple stakeholders and personalities.Executive communication: Excellent communication skills with all types of audiences.Great attitude: High energy, an optimistic attitude, and a passion for the payments industry.QualificationsSalary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsEmployment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
